wwoofing

I’ve been pretty out of contact recently, mainly because for the first few weeks of January I was wwoofing in Bibbona. The farm/meditation center was located in the middle of nowhere, about an hour south of Livorno. On the farm they grow olive and fruit trees. Even though it wasn’t any harvest season, we still got to eat the products made on the farm. This included amazing jams and olive oil.

Since it wasn’t really a farming season, I was doing other things on the farm like digging ditches (tons and tons of ditches), gardening, and maintenance of the property. It was fun and a lot of work but I can safely say I never want to dig another ditch (although I must be quite good at it by then). We also had to cook dinner every night which let me develop some of my cooking skills since we had to cook for four very hungry people every night. It was also pretty nice having access to a fully stocked kitchen again.

All in all, it was pretty wonderful spending a couple weeks in the beautiful and peaceful countryside of Tuscany.
