Before Aaron left we spent close to a week in Rome (I’m still here for a little bit longer). A few days of that we devoted to entirely touristy things which was actually really fun. Sorry in advance for how long the post is…there was a lot to see.
We went to the Trevi Fountain, which unfortunately was in the process of being conserved and thus was covered in scaffolding.
Next was the Pantheon:
We also went to Gelateria Della Palma, a gelateria that had been my favorite when I was in Rome about 10 years ago. It was just as amazing as I remembered! These are the flavors I got: Chocolate Strawberry, Fig Walnut, Pear and Cheese, and Basil.
After that was Piazza del Popolo, the place where there are lots of pictures of me as a kid on the lions. Here are some newer ones:
We briefly visited the Spanish Steps but it was pretty rainy so there wasn’t much point in hanging around:
And lastly, a night visit to the Colosseum:
Along the way we also discovered a (not so Italian) awesome food place that sold solely delicious fries in huge quantities. Basically this place was my dream store:
Here are some miscellaneous photos from other places along our adventuring:
The rain adds extra spirit to the photos. The food looks wonderful.
